Cancun & The Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

This last summer, my husband and I decided to go on vacation someplace warm and exotic. I was watching a Tv show one day on the world’s best resorts and Cancun was listed within the top 10. I started researching online and I found out it was indeed a beautiful and safe destination. So in late July, we were on our way to paradise.

Caught between contemporary development and tradition, the Yucatán Peninsula stands at a crossroads. On one side you have the modern mega-resorts like Cancun, nestled in the heart of the Mexican Caribbean. On the other are the proud, steadfast traditions of the Maya, the mystery of the ceremonial centers created by their ancestors, illustrated by the famous ruins of Chichén Itzá – the seventh modern wonder of the world.

And then, you add the fresh food options, nice people and the magical beauty of nature, which can be admired in the jungle-swathed natural reserve, the beautiful sandy beaches, and the underground lakes.

To sum up: wonderful location + super nice people + delicious food = the perfect summer vacation. ¡Viva México!
